Convention experience for me reaffirmed the unity we share in the Holy spirit through the experience of speaking in tongues.  Regardless of nationalities or status we are one in the spirit of the lord . I’m blessed to be part of God’s amazing plan . The convention experience of busking in the mall and markets  under freezing Adelaide winter preaching  the gospel  of salvation to the lost  will remain a highlight in my spiritual journey.

Warrnambool saints thought it was a very exciting time for us to be part of it all. So many things to remember and rejoice in. We’re looking forward to replaying the talks and testimonies now available. We’ve also printed off some of the testimony posters and right at this very moment they are being prepared for display in our Sunday Market tomorrow.

Angel came to the Lord after receiving an invite.

Hi, I had been inviting people all weekend to come to the convention, although I had some good talks with people, I also had many people who rejected God’s word.

After having one such rejection I headed back to the convention centre and on the way I saw Angel.

I told her about Jesus and asked her if she’d like to come to the convention, to which she replied “Yes”

I told her that this would make her really happy.

During the meeting I couldn’t wait for it to be over so we could go out for prayer.

We went out for prayer and she started to stammer in a different tongue.

She said she would like to wait for a few weeks before being baptised, to which we said ok

To my suprise, later on that day she received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and she was baptised by full immersion in water.

I saw her after this and she was full of joy, and she told me that, that morning she was very unhappy and thinking about going back to Taiwan.

It gave me joy to be involved in bringing someone to God and taught me that no matter how many rejections you have from people to never give up.

A simple powerful statement really struck a chord for me. Ben Robinson told of how he was staggering up the street that the Convention Centre building we were sitting in is on. How 32 years ago Vikki came up to him and said & I quote their conversation: “I have been healed of heroin by Jesus Christ”. “It was a very powerful statement, it just stopped me” Ben said. ”It wasn’t a religious statement, a religious statement is ‘come along to church’. It made me wonder if this mythical, if you like, person that I had read of as a child was still alive. A week later, I asked Christ if He was there and asked Him for the truth, and in a moment of time - seconds, I spoke in tongues, and this powerful calmness just instantly descended on me, something I had never experienced ever before. It just was so powerful it had to come from Christ. I had no knowledge of scriptures, tongues or the fellowship, it was the truth of the power of the living Christ.”

For me it really reinforced & sharpened my focus that it is ‘the power of Jesus Christ’ that I need to put in my opening statements when I first talk to people about the Gospel because it is Jesus who is still the answer!

Convention experience

Convention brought home to me, that we are truely part of something God has organised. Yet we are still so few in number in comparison to the rest of the world. Even though the Gospel is spreading across the globe, there are many other countries that still need to hear. The Lord can do anything, in his time and in his way. The wonderful testimonies of the saints is overwhelming proof that Jesus is still the answer and always will be.
